Valentine's Day ..cumming

  • Feb. 8th, 2009 at 11:57 AM

Next Saturday is Valentine's Day and i'm already starting to prepare for a little fun.  With my husband or someone else?  I won't tell.  No matter what my husband will definitely benefit.  I'm really excited because we normally don't do something like this.  Definitely unique.  Hint, we were thinking of going to Hawaii but the flights are so expensive right now!  It is great that it takes place during President's weekend ang gets a long weekend started early.

What is everyone else doing?

I do love this time of year as football is over and although my husband's Cavaliers are pretty exciting, i still have his attention partially until baseball season starts.    Today he is fixing some new lighting and some windows that I purchased.  I love it when he is being handy around the house.  I get to point at things and tell him how to fix it.  It's kind of the "dominant" personality in me.  I love to give orders!

Well i have lots of emails to catch up and today we are taking photos for this week's Valentine's update!

Bring it on!

I am so ready for 2009. In fact I'm eager (but will be patient) to see how people behave tomorrow. My models usually predict a pretty active stock market and retail business after the two week holiday lull. And then there is a follow up lag kind of like when people realize they ate too much.

This week is MacWorld which I usually cover to help follow one of the biggest tech consumer companies, Apple. Since Steve Jobs will not be there, I'm seeing conservatism with less flash and dash. Usually Steve's cult like speeches bring about some kind of crazy aura that spurs the markets, but those days appear to be numbered and gone.

Have a good week everyone. Reember to not let your eye get bigger than your appetite this week!

December Doldrums

Whew...this has been a rough year and I can't wait for it to end. Can you?

People are still asking me if the market has bottomed out and if it is safe to get back in. My answer is that it is best to step out of it if you are not someone fully committed to the stock market. I still say that you should contribute to your 401K just not excessively.

Am I cutting back on gifts? Yes and No. I tend to get extravagent each year. This year I'm just getting more creative rather than throwing money around. No use getting new iPhones, Blackberries, etc. Just getting people the basics like clothing, books, games, etc.

I've been through some tough times this year personally with real life event situations all around me that have made me respect life a lot more. Once this year is over, I'm hoping to jump into 2009 with a lot more vigor and joy.

I'm hoping many of you had a chance to take advantage of our Black Friday specials this past weekend.

Another Weekend gone

  • Jun. 1st, 2008 at 10:43 PM

I spent this whole weekend at gymnastics competitions and swim meets. How fun!

Now I have to go back to the world we live in. Who says thatt here should only be 5 work days and 2 weekend days? If we are to live a balanced life, there should be equal weekend and weekday days.

It is actually the end of the month so month end reports are due. I spent a lot of this weekend making sure they got done so I can get them in early!

I did get to enjoy a party at some friend's house. It was absolutely gorgeous with plantation shutters, beautiful artwork, perfectly organized walk-in closets, incredible furniture, etc. D&L have such great taste. Of course they don't have children either which helps eveything look great.

Have a great weeke everyone.
